OSPREY LODGE offers an experience of a lifetime. Located in the Western slopes
and foothills of the Alaska Range, its 3,000 foot airstrip makes possible a client's arrival at its doorstep.This
airstrip allows twin-engine turbojet service from Anchorage. Clients do not fly through mountain passes and weather
is usually not a deterrent in adhering to a schedule.
OSPREY LODGE, family-run and homesteaded in the early 70's, continues to produce an abundance of game.
Its spectacular scenery and seclusion offers the hunter a unique and memorable hunt. Gary Pogany, pilot-owner-guide,
has guided in the area for over thirty years. His knowledge and experience are invaluable in assuring the success
of the hunter.
OSPREY LODGE staff remains dedicated to the safety and security
of the hunter. Lodge aircraft are well-maintained, personnel are CPR
trained, medi-vac service and satellite telephone are available. Gary
& son Steve, remain at the lodge throughout the season. Their
charter services are always available; their attitude is one of dedication
to the success of the entire hunting experience.
What makes OSPREY LODGE Alaska's finest?
It's a combination of factors. Homesteaded by pilot-owner-guide
Gary Pogany in the early 70's, OSPREY LODGE site was selected for a variety of reasons. Probably, however, a single
most important reason for its location was its ABUNDANCE OF GAME. The site had lots of game when homesteaded, it
continues to have lots of game today.
Drawing upon years of experience, Gary not only has the necessary knowledge in knowing
the patterns of the game, but he has great latitude in knowing the weather patterns of the area. Each of these
factors is important for a SUCCESSFUL AND SAFE HUNT.
 OSPREY LODGE
is a modern comfortable facility. Just recently a DEEP WELL was drilled
thus making possible modern plumbing and a sauna with lots of water.
Its huge WALK-IN FREEZER facilitates boxes of frozen game (even antlers
if necessary). Observers (usually wives but not always) frequently
accompany a hunter. Heated cabins are comfortable for such a stay
and a CHEF-ON-STAFF prepares excellent Alaska-style meals. A gazebo
was added to the grounds for your relaxation in 2001.
Owners of OSPREY LODGE stay at the facility during the season.
They are available at all time to make frequent checks on spike camps (weather permitting) or take a party to a
local fishery. They do not reside in a nearby town. They are AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES.
OSPREY LODGE personnel is keenly aware of your SAFETY IN ARRIVING
from Anchorage, your SAFETY WHILE FLYING and your SAFETY IN THE FIELD. Aircraft are well maintained, and our staff
is well versed in first-aid. Both medi-vac and satellite phones are available at OSPREY LODGE.
The staff at OSPREY LODGE will work hard to make your trip SAFE,
